Re: [prpoint] Continental Airlines, an American Company humiliates India

Yes, it is true, it is not only humiliating a single Indian but all Indians are being treated like this. In Indian soil,  when we are treated like this then what is the case of foreign soil. When we respect foreigners so much why do foreigners feel Indians as racists and behave to us as if we are racists.

Dear friends

Just now, all the channels are breaking the News and Indian Parliament is debating about the way Continental Airlines, an American Airline Company humiliated Indian Former President Dr Abdul Kalam when he was travelling to US a month back.

As per rules governing the Airlines, they need to follow the guidelines given by the Government of that Country. According to Indian protocol rules, Former Presidents and Former Prime Ministers are not frisked.  These guidelines apply to all the Airlines permitted to  operate in India.

When Dr Abdul Kalam, Former Indian President went to check-in Continental Airlines, they  breached the protocol and  frisked him along with the common passengers at Delhi Airport.   He was also asked to wait at the Aerobridge like any other passengers for being frisked.  Dr Abdul Kalam at that time, in his own usual humble way, submitted himself for all the security check, including removing his shoes.

Today, the news has come out in all the TV Channels and is being debated in Indian Parliament.   The Airline's spokesperson has said that that for their Airline, there is no such VIP treatment.  All the political parties in India have taken this very seriously and the Government has issued a Show cause notice to the American Airlines for their behaviour of humiliating former Indian President in Indian soil.

IWhat would happen if any  Indian Airline Company frisks and humiliates the former US President Bush or Clinton in US Airport.  Will Continental Airlines have courage to frisk any former Presidents of US or European countries?

Dr Abdul Kalam is a very simple and humble man, highly respected by the entire world.  He may not mind such humiliations.  But such arrogance of an American Airlines on a highly respected Indian leader, that too in Indian soil itself is a matter to be condemned.

There is no history that anywhere 'arrogance' has succeeded.  Only humility and humbleness lead to success.  Dr Abdul Kalam himself is a classic example.
