I have a different opinion as compared to other learned members.
Let's not see this as a war on nation's image. A magazine has labeled our PM "Underachiever" and not another head of state. On the other hand our opposition has already given the PM far worse labels and we can't really accept them to be constructive when UPA allies are also not supporting them on so many issues.
The magazine might have got its facts right. We should have come out with such suggestions when Fitch or S&P came out with their outlook on India.
Do we really want to give Time magazine this much importance that we are seen reacting so much?
My only suggestion to PM or Government would be to ignore the issue completely. Don't even acknowledge it. Let the work speak for itself.
Regards
Anand

The points put across by the group is definitely right and as suggested by BNK, if all of us could come up with suggestions, it would help the government to do things they have not thought about. Above all they will definitely know that they have the support of their citizens for all the right reasons.
But, we also have to take into consideration the acts which were not implemented by the PM, primarily because of the upper hand of the coalition government. The first thing that comes to my mind is the FDI in retail implementation which would have had more benefits than what Mamta Banerjee chooses to see.Crowning the PM alone as an underachiever is not the right thing, coming to an understanding with the entire government is a must. Making all the heads see eye to eye is what is most important. So while we give suggestions on what could be done, we need to direct this to the coalition government aswell.Let me know your opinion on thisregardsShubha
