Dear Sri Srinivasan
I concur with the first para of your mail. But then how can we blame the PR person of that Company since the happenings reveal that the PR person and the PR department of India Cements Ltd are remotely controlled by the key person or persons of the company. The PR wing is an eye wash/an apology for being maintained the PR cel as 'namke vaste'! Dont you sense 'Mr. Guru ji's' hypocratic behaviour in lieing all along with his great F I L. With such a background what a poor, hired, fired salaried PR!!is expected to do.
Alas! finally it comes to bear the brunt for the PR man in this country in such concerns. When the real PR going to exist in the Corporate Companies like India Cements Ltd.,

Subject: [prpoint] Whitewashing of sins is a 'bad PR' - IPL Gate and India Cements
hi
Time and again, we have been discussing in our group about the whitewashing of sins as a bad PR exercise. Particularly, when an organisation is in crisis and deep troubles, instead of trying to be more transparent, hiding the known facts may prove to be disastrous.
The whole nation and particularly cricket lovers were under heavy shock when they came to know that Gurunath Meyyappan, the owner of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was also involved in the IPL Gate and spot fixing. Last evening, India Cements released a press note disowning Gurunath and informing that he was neither owner, nor CEO/Team Principal. Press Release also added that he was "only one of the members (honorary) of the management team" of CSK.
If you search in google with key words "Gurunath meyyappan, owner, CSK", you will get plenty of reports and photos describing him as Team Owner. Even Times of India has published various documents about his holding top position in CSK.
The Hindu has carried a photo of Gurunath Meyyappan on 14th April 2013 describing him as the owner of CSK. Please see the link.
Now, the statement of India Cements has triggered another controversy and exposed its shaky grounds. It is sad that PR advisors of the company have chosen to hide the known and published facts and issue a press note to whitewash the sins committed by their owners. If India Cements feel that Gurunath is innocent, they should have denied all the charges and defended him boldly, instead of disowning the published facts. Such knee-jerk and whitewashing press releases will reduce the credibility of the organisation. India Cement's own press release is going to create more crisis and expose them further.
Whenever media described Gurunath as 'onwer', why India Cements did not raise objection at that time to set the facts right. The present press release raises lot of doubts.
Let us wait for the developments. I also share members to share their expert views on this issue.
(Thanks to IPL Gate. The review of UPA II is totally forgotten. We plan to write about this after the IPL Gate. Let us keep watching 'Bharat Nirman' in the TVs till we take up the review.)
