Hype is a function of time and money. Given that you are planning to launch the site sometime in Feb, consider these ideas to create the hype :
External ;
Do an offline show at your head location.
Invite the who’s who of your domain / sector.
Invite your customers to an off-site party. Bring in a celebrity.
Create value. Call media.
Prompt people to a landing page from your e-invite.
Add a viral element to refer to a friend, enter in your e-mail address and get a free product.
Tie the message to e-greeting. Send it to selective stakeholders.
Internal :
Do an e-mail blast within the org.
Post it in your Intranet.
Do desktop messaging.
Do teaser campaign.
And one for investors? Given the carnage in the last 2 days in the market, you need to play it very safe… especially if the investor sentiments don’t improve.

Dear Friends,
Need some your expert advise.
My department has been working on a Group website
which includes microsites of respective companies, a
careers site and one for investors. Its been a big
exercise and has involved some serious hard work.
The site is expected to be ready by mid Feb, when we
are hopeful of launching it. What initiatives should
be taken to create some hype and interest around the
launch, how should the launch be planned, what should
be the strategy of informing the internal and external
stakeholders.
Looking forward to some brainstorming on this
important internal and extrenal communicaton exercise.
