Dear Mr Srinivasan,
This discussion must have definitely led to introspection of those PR Agencies who do not and can not swivel 360 degrees.
There is a national level Association called "Public Relations Consultants Association of India" headquartered either in Mumbai or Delhi. If PR Agencies are assumed as PR Consultants and if you look at the expectation of this Association from its prospective members, the member consultants are expected to practice either all or many of the following issues - Financial communications; Environment communications; Issues & Crisis Communications; Employee/ Internal Communications; Community Relations; Marketing Communications; Public Affairs; Government Relations; Corporate Communications etc. This Association is modeled on the successful UK PRCA.
If there is any member in our group belonging to PRCAI, perhaps he/she can throw some light on this debate. As far as a 'round table' on this subject is concerned, it is a very good idea.
There should not be any problem for professional organizations like ABCI, PRSI, PRCI, GFPR and also PRCAI to organize some kind of a dialogue or a colloquium or a seminar at their places of convenience, in modeling and developing core competencies for the benefit of PR agencies.
