Dear Babji
There could not have been a better tribute to a great PR practitioner
whose contribution to the field of Public Relations is tremendous. A
highly down-to-earth yet focussed, Dr. Reddi is a visionary whose
ideas must be recorded and preserved for the public relations
practitioners.
Celebrating 6th August as National PR Education Day, we are in for it,
and in fact, all PR associations and fora should take this up as a
mission to contribute to PR Education.
However, I am of the firm view, that like many designated 'days' that
the world celebrates around the globe, let it not remain confined to a
mere celebration. Let each 6th August be on every PR practitioner'
agenda, to prepare a plan of action for the next five years, and the
way he/she would contribute to realise that action plan.
Let 6th August be the Day of reckoning and have meaningful
result-oriented, with a definite time line to contribute to PR
Education, whether it is in the form of compilation of Indian PR case
studies, reviewing the PR syllabii being taught in the Universities,
formulating an accreditation process, and hold regular Professional
Development Programmes (PDPs) with a structured syllabii so that they
upgrade their knowledge and skills as per the emerging technologies.
Best regards,
CJ Singh, CorePR, Chandigarh
