Fully agree. Corpcom and PR agencies should work together in the interest of an organisation. If they are loggerheads, both will tend to lose. There is absolutely no winner. My experience has that corpcom depts have been looking at us as an extended arm of their companies. Of course, it all depends on the kind of relations that a PR agemnuy develops with corporates and corpcoms. After all, we are in the business of building and maintaining relationships! Aren't we?

about the membership I was told that the forum is not open to PR Agencies

Another reply from the same group came up stating categorically that ' PR
and Corp Comm' are two different roles???????. We talk about communication
and reaching out to the people in our industry to make things more
professional and here is a fantastic example of limited knowledge and
communications from the company departments itself. They may have different
reasons for blocking PR Agency but the reason mentioned above is really not
acceptable. Are PR Agencies not doing enough to get the messege across that
it can do much beyond just media realtions and agencies are doing and they
do it well if their client servicing attitude is positive and mature.

May I please request memebers to share their views including Corp Comm
people off course.

I personally feel that both Corp Comm and PR Agencies can help each other
develop this industry and a healthy interaction is required than such
watertight compartments.
