Dear All,
In nearly two weeks, voter registrations for General Elections 2009 will come to a close. All these years, we have been armchair contributors to our democracy; Our contribution mainly being criticism- constructive or not, is a call we need to take as individuals. Isn't it but natural for the authority to misuse their power especially when they know the public is too lazy to demand accountability? We all have a fabulous vision for India in 20, 40 or 50 years. This requires unified and sustained efforts from the governments and the citizens for all those years till we realise the dream. But how many of us are even willing to give a day towards making that dream come true? The first and important contribution that we can make is to be a part of the general elections and vote a suitable candidate.
You might say there are no suitable candidates or ask how your one vote going to make a difference? Eliminating the worse from the bad will surely better the crop. Moreover, at least you can ensure that no one can misuse your vote if you have already exercised it.
So if you haven't already registered to vote, log on to www.jaagore.
