Dear Mr Srinivasan, Very interesting topic to discuss in the group. "Today's public opinion is tomorrow's legislation" This is the beauty of Democracy. Parliament or State Legislatures are representative deliverative fora with powers to make/create laws and to change/amend laws for the benefit of the people at large. But, many of our representatives have become too rapacious to appear to be active in the Well of the Houses and at the Podium, tearing the papers or breaking the Microphones since introduction of direct live-cast of the proceedings by Media. Members belonging to opposition come up with adjournment motions and stall the day's proceedings in the beginning itself. Question hour and Zero hour being the members time, lot of electrifying activity can be witnessed. In the process lot of public time and money is being wasted. The net result is, towards the end of the session, many items on the Agenda go without discussions, some bills guillotined and some questions deemed as answered. The present day constituents are not as innocent as before. People started deciding on the kind of representatives they want. Regards, Y. Dear Mr.Srinivasan,
Kudos to you Mr. Srinivasan. It is a perfect task. I have gone through the stat with awe and dismay. The performance of MPs in Parliament has to be evaluated by the people before selecting them again. Many of our hon. MPs spent their- and our- time and energy to stall the proceedings and disrupt the house. They took the voters for granted. Even then the performance chart shows that there were some, who do respect the people and care them.
I think the chart will spread its message through many.
