Re: [prpoint] Performance of all the MPs - Full list

Hi there,

The joke going around is that the only proposal that will be passed 'unanimously' in theParliament is onincreasing the amenities/benefits to MPs.

Most of the MPs also make extra income by asking 'questions' inthe Parliament for a a 'fee'.This has been proved more than once.

Most of the MPs sublet their premises Delhi allocated to them - including the servant quarters.

Many manage to retain even after loosing their MP status, as they know how to do it , as so done by many ministers. Former Fin.Min. Edwardo Filaro, having not vacated his house, the lock was broken and the baggage thrown out on footpath - PTI had sent the photo to media,.

Film star Govinda,anMP what is his record of attendance in Parliament ? All he did was some un-authorised construction in his farm which caught media attention and then had to stop as 'high command' was annoyed.

It is now futile to look for leaders, like Late Lal Bahadur shastri or GulzarilalNanda - irrespective of party.

Mera Bharat Mahan.

Dear Mr Srinivasan,

Very interesting topic to discuss in the group.

"Today's public opinion is tomorrow's legislation" This is the beauty of Democracy.
Parliament or State Legislatures are representative deliverative fora with powers to make/create laws and to change/amend laws for the benefit of the people at large.

But, many of our representatives have become too rapacious to appear to be active in the Well of the Houses and at the Podium, tearing the papers or breaking the Microphones since introduction of direct live-cast of the proceedings by Media. Members belonging to opposition come up with adjournment motions and stall the day's proceedings in the beginning itself. Question hour and Zero hour being the members time, lot of electrifying activity can be witnessed. In the process lot of public time and money is being wasted. The net result is, towards the end of the session, many items on the Agenda go without discussions, some bills guillotined and some questions deemed as answered.

The present day constituents are not as innocent as before. People started deciding on the kind of representatives they want.

Dear Mr.Srinivasan,

Kudos to you Mr. Srinivasan. It is a perfect task. I have gone through the stat with awe and dismay. The performance of MPs in Parliament has to be evaluated by the people before selecting them again. Many of our hon. MPs spent their- and our- time and energy to stall the proceedings and disrupt the house. They took the voters for granted. Even then the performance chart shows that there were some, who do respect the people and care them.

I think the chart will spread its message through many.

dear friends

As you are aware, we are publishing the podcast interviews of top performers of 14th Lok Sabha in our PodMagazine site www.poduniversal. com

We have been getting, lot of requests from media and other friends for the full list.  I now got the full list of the performance of all the MPs, statewise, partywise from PRS India, an independent legislative research Initiative at Delhi  (www.prsindia. org) .

The full list in excell file is available in the following link.  This list has the details of all the individual MPs and also statewise analysis.

http://www.prpoint. com/loksabha/ 14thloksabha- performance. xls

Besides, the members may also get the profile and the details about the individual issues raised by the MPs in the Lok Sabha from the official Lok Sabha site
http://www.loksabha .nic.in

I am now sharing this details, so that you may circulate amongst the friends in media, NGOs and other public bodies.  You can analyse the performance of the MPs of your constituency and also your State.  This will also help the media friends to analyse the performance of individual MPs for their stories.

If you need any specific guidance or support, please wirte to me offline.
