dear friends
Chennai Chapter of Global Forum for Public Relations was launched in a ceremonial function on Saturday the 9th May 2009 at Brahmakumaris Retreat Centre, Sriperumpudur (near chennai). Many young professionals/students from Chennai attended the event. Eight member GFPR team from Hyderabad also participated in the Launch function. National President Brother B K Karuna also participated in the function.
The new office bearers Sakthi Prasanna (Chairman), Narrendiran (Vice Chairman), Raja Marthandam (Secretary), and other committee members Poornima, Vishu Ram, Sampath, Krishnamurthy were all administered Oath of Office by Bobji, National Vice President, in the presence of galaxy of senior professionals. The unique aspect of this chapter is that the entire management team is less than 30 years of age. In the whole country, this is the first chapter in any PR body, managed by youngsters.
Mr B N Kumar, CEO of Concept PR also attended the event, coming all the way from Mumbai.
The launch function was followed with an "UnConference" on the theme "Communication during recession". Since it was an UnConference, all the participants had the opportunity to share the views. Experts like Madan Behal (MD, Adfactors PR), Ravi Srinivasan (Editor, Mail Today), Arun Aroa (Associate VP, GMR Dial), C J Singh (MD, Core PR) and Chandra Mou8li (CEO, Blue Lotus PR) share their views live during the UnConference over telephone. They also answered the questions from the audience.
GFPR Chennai will involve the young communication professionals and students for development of the skills.
I will be releasing the podcast on the UnConference on Monday.
