Srividhya Mariappan doing her M.Sc Science & Technology Communication under the Dept of Media Sciences in Anna University has been selected to present the paper where more than two thousand specialists worldwide will gather in Santiago, Chile between July 12 and 16, in the XXI International Congress of Political Science conducted by International Political Science Association (IPSA)
IPSA was founded in 1949 under the patronage of UNESCO. Today it has nearly three thousand members around the world. The President is Ms Lourdes Sola and its headquarters are located in Montreal, Canada. IPSA conducts diverse institutional academic activities, including the World Congress, which takes place every three years. The World Congress has been the major meeting ground for academic discussion and debate effected uninterrupted since 1952. The ACCP, created in 1983, is the organization responsible for the coordination of the Congress, reporting to IPSA.
World congress theme is "GLOBAL DISCONTENT? Dilemmas of Change". The congress consists of seven main themes. Among these themes she is going to present the paper in the panel called "Discontent with Measures to Combat Global Warming - The Failures of States and International Bodies" represented by an Indian Prof. V.N. Viswanathan. He is a professor in Political Science Department in Presidency College. After the panel has been selected papers are invited and five papers were decided to present in the panel V.N.Viswanathan (Professor), P.Periyakaruppan (Professor), Nilofer Nisha (Lecturer), Shyam Singh (Research Scholar) and Srividhya Mariappan (PG Student).
Among these members Nilopher Nisha and Srividhya Mariappan awarded travel grant of 1500 USD and Anna University accepted to give balance amount to Srividhya Mariappan for presenting her.
