Today as the world shrinks, thanks to World Wide Web evolving dynamically everyday, and lot many people getting online to explore, research, reach out, catch up, express etc, one question that strongly arises in my mind
. Are we in anyway [knowingly or unknowingly] committing a cyber crime?
We all are aware of certain broad guidelines laid down by the cyber cell about what can be a cyber crime etc., but are we all really aware of all the possibilities
Everyday we as the specialist in communications, lead out mosaic of communication material, we also network online socially, view profiles, send scraps, write blogs [share bitter sweet experiences in blogs], visit various sites
.... etc, there is a fair chance that we are unknowingly crossing the thin line.
I suggest having a discussion on this and constituting our set of guidelines [on what can be soft criticism, pure defamation, what is allowed to write and what is not, what can attract a legal suite etc
] apart from the set of guidelines by the cyber cell, also lets all unite under one roof to support each other in every possible way in the process of communication. Please share your experiences on the cyber crime particularly on writing about someone or some entity [company or a person or service etc] in your articles or blog or in the communication that you may send out as a part of planned PR strategy
lets ask questions on whether it can attract any legal suite against you or your company.
Kind attention: Mr. Shrinivisan [Sir]
Please advice and help us all in compiling a set of do's and don'ts on cyber crimes in context to PR and where to draw the line.
