my apologies for having a different view though am a patriotic Indian.
companies are in business and particularly when operating in multiple markets they need to stay away from politics and recognize there are multiple views to an issue like Arunachal Pradesh. Catering to hysteria in each market will lead to anarchy.
While Google is right in showing it as disputed territory, it showing it as part of China is playing into the hands of China and probably because it is an autocracy and if not done, it might face oprating issues.
Arunachal is an integral part of India and I think we should more focus on getting China to give up its claim though dialogue and sooner. and make every citizen there feel integral part of India and not the neglected part that it was till recently. Many of us still call them chingis etc. which is highly unacceptable.

Xavier

Subject: [prpoint] How Google Map plays triple game in 'Arunachal Pradesh'
Hi all
See how our beloved and Award Winning Multi National companies play different games to suit their business needs.
Though Arunachal Pradesh is part of India, suddenly China started claiming this Territory'. Google Map on its part also is playing 'triple game' to suit their business needs. Please see this.
1.
http://maps.google.co.in/ - This is an Indian version of Google Map. Please type 'Arunachal Pradesh' in the search box and see. This is shown as Indian part.
2.
http://maps.google.com/ - This is the International version of google Map. Please type the words 'Arunachal Pradesh' in the search box and see. This is shown as disputed area.(shown as dotted lines)
3.
http://ditu.google.cn/ - This is Chinese version of Google Map. Type the same words again in the search box and see. This is shown as Chinese territory.
Now Indian Parliament is in session. Media members can bring this to their knowledge.
I am endorsing a copy of this mail to Mr Sashi Tharoor, Hon'ble Minister of State for External Affairs for his knowledge.
We are prepared to publish any clarification from Google.
