Hi, It's been a week since the e-zine, 'Making of a Journalist' went online and cliche as it may sound, a thanks is definitely due to everyone who has read it and appreciated the work. But first, I must thank, once again, Srinivasan sir, Shri Rajendran, Shri Triambak, Rekha and other people at Editorial team who went over the drafts of the e-zine and were instrumental in giving it the final look and feel. Also, thanks to Shri Narendra, Venkat Pulapaka and Bhagwan Singh for the interviews that added a lot to the contents. As a print journalist, especially one used to writing wordy news features, after weeks of research and painstaking interviews, writing for the online medium was like a breath of fresh air. For one, I was given the liberty to write my thoughts, as I please, on a subject very close to me. This is a rare treat for someone from the traditional media! It was also a tremendous learning exercise. The media is a multi-dimensional vocation and it was great to get a first-hand experience of new media. Writing crisp copy and sticking to the tight word limit was a disciplinary exercise. However, I was given time to develop my thoughts and my queries were patiently handled, which was fantastic. Thanks a lot to everyone who has read the e-zine and responded... Best regards, Meghaa |
