Srinivasan
Dear Mr. Srinivasan,
The latest issue of e-zine is simply amazing, especially the collation of articles on Presentation Skills. Congratulations to the team that put it all together.
Over years, I have also come across situations when I had to make presentation at short notice.
I tried a couple of things – some of these work J
- Starting with a smile / an ice breaker joke (of corporate category). At other occasions have even started by asking the cricket score.
- Remaining audience focused – say things that audience was to hear – and then begin my own stuff
- Keeping it short (sweet) and simple (kiss)
- I learnt that ideal presentation should have not more than 12 slides.
- Anecdotes / quotes stories, real life experience – really help.
- Suddenly asking questions (especially to least attentive person) J
- Letting the presentation (slides) aid us, not the other way round.
Stray thoughts.
Warm regards
