Friends:
Have seen T.N.Ashok's views. As I said, we have to come out of glass houses, before we dare to express our views. PR bodies have to come out of personal fiefdoms for rescuing the professional from Radias, Govt affairs/Public Affairs agencies. Advocacy is part of any Public affairs dept but advocacy to the detriment of the people and nation for private gain agaisnt public good, for sheer profiteering is harmful to capitalism as such, Individual capitalists gain against the spirit of capitalism works against capitalism.
Adam Smith did not favour this: not Max Weber. The US went down because individual capitalists went fro greed. PR as an instrument of capitalism, competition, has to stay away from individual capitalist's gain that harms the system. Do we as PR professionals have the courage to internalize and keep a distance between capitalist's greed and capitalism's need?
Long term should prevail.
Narendra.
Sir, I full concur with your views regarding the silence of PR bodies in the Radiagate. The conversation between Ms Nira Radia and Mr A Raja was known to the Government (PM and Home Minister) well before the appointment of Mr A Raja as telecom Minister during the second regime of UPA. No action has been taken, either by the PM or by others. This proves the strength of the persons involved in the conspiracy.Regarding Mr Ratan Tata, approaching the court, only one thing I would like to impress upon. Mr Tata need not worry, if the conversation between him and Ms Nira Radia does not have any talk which will affect his reputation. I don't know why now he has raised the issue. What is still remaining in the tapes, only God knows.Anyhow I am confident, like many other scams, these will also subside and a new one will start to make people forget these. Some where in some corner of the country, an Official would have received bribe in 100s or 1000s and he will be caught by the CBI and other Authorities and it will be shown repeatedly in the Media.God Save this country.
