hi all
As you might have read in the media that on 1st Jan 2013, the modern
Internet has completed 30 years.
It was the day the US Department of Defence's ARPANET network fully
switched from the older Network Control Program (NCP) protocol to the
Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
communications system, which has now revolutionalised the concept of
Internet itself.
Mr Vint Cerf, regarded as the 'Father of Internet' developed this
communication protocol for internet. He is also presently the Vice
President and Internet Evangelist of Google. He is the main brain
behind many of the Google products. He is also the recipient of
'Turing Award', which is considered as equivalent to Nobel Prize.
(There is no Nobel Prize for computer related applications).
Mr Vint Cerf was also the Chairman of The Internet Corporation for
Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), who are allotting the domain names
world over. He is now the International President of Association for
Computing Machinery (ACM), which has nearly 1,00,000 professionals
across the world in more than 100 countries. .
Mr Vent Cerf is visiting Chennai to participate in the Annual event of
ACM, India-Chennai Chapter at IIT, Madras from 23rd Jan to 25th Jan
2013. He will be addressing the professionals on 24th and 25th Jan at
IIT, Madras.
Mr H R Mohan, President of ACM India-Chennai Chapter has sent a
request to me to inform the members that if any of the mainline media
wants an appointment for an exclusive interview with Mr Vent Cerf and
to attend the Sessions during these days, they may kindly contact him
