The another controversy - Politics and sports
The Built up to the scenario -
Well over years and decades we have read, discussed and heard of politics to be kept away from sports. Somehow the case is to be so...
In yet another controversy relating to sports and politics - The Hon'able CM of TN, keeping the public sentiments in mind refused to host IPL T20 matches invovling Sri-lankan cricketers.
The Result -
IPL governing council owing to political pressure decided to play safe withdrawing Sri lankan player from chennai ipl matches...
Repercussions -
1 - Rantunga calls for boycott of ipl matches by lankan players
2 - Murlidharan expresses his disappointment on the issue
3 - few more reaction may come in from different quarters
Generic view point on the scenario
A - public concern and sentiments is the prime concern for any state or central govt. Quiet understandable, thereby taking decisions and regulations that maintains law and order
B - Security and Safety to the players, support staff, officials is also the key
C - But the sad state of affairs is that at the end its is the sports which suffers along with the players and its fan community
D - Despite of efforts to keep them separate - sports and politics are so interlinked to keep them apart in each part of the globe
The political course may take its path and time and hopefully the resolutions will be in public interest but till then sports at large will be at loss.
