BCCI is a Society registered under Societies Registration Act of Tamil Nadu. BCCI's registration number is 221 of 2006 (25th sep 2006).

Tamil Nadu Government has lot of powers to take over even the BCCI (society), if there are suspected financial irregularities. The Government can dissolve the Board and appoint a Special Officer. The State Government can order a detailed probe in the BCCI affairs. They can even prosecute the President and other office bearers for any financial irregularity.
Recently, (few weeks back), there were alleged financial irregularities in the most popular Annamalai University. Overnight, the state Government took over the University and appointed a special officer.
BCCI President N Srinivasan is known for his close association with Karunanidhi and Maran Family. Even earlier, Jayalalitha openly accused N Srinivasan as 'binami' of Maran.
Now all eyes are on Jayalalitha as to how, she is going to handle BCCI. She is known for surprise and drastic actions. Will she take over BCCI and appoint a Special Officer, after dismissing all the BCCI Board members?
