RE: [prpoint] Feedback - 83rd (Feb 2014) issue of ezine PreSense

Thank you, Ashok for the detailed feedback and views about the latest PreSense, and for your good wishes. Much of the credit, as correctly acknowledged by you, goes to Srinivasan and his leadership. His experience and expertise has made the issue what it is. In spite of these attributes, Srinivasan is open to ideas, suggestions and a fair critic. To that extent, my role as Editor is made simple.

There is much expectation about the forthcoming elections. Many expect surprises, and many attempt to 'predict' those surprises (if such an oxymoron can make sense).
I personally hope all the eligible voters  will exercise their franchise with responsibility along with their awareness of this right. That needs to be the call of the day.
Good luck to all of us.

Susan

Subject: [prpoint] Feedback - 83rd (Feb 2014) issue of ezine PreSense

Dear All,

Just went through the 83rd edition of E Zone, its becoming more and more useful as a reference point on any subject it focuses on. Congratulations to the editorial team headed by K Srinivasan, publisher, for the painstaking research on any subject.

Making particular mention of the 83rd issue on LS Polls. I was in the process of writing a comprehensive article on the interim budget , what it means to the people, and also weave into it the upcoming LS elections and some new startling facts. While i had a vague idea of the numbers involved, the issue came in very useful to confirm the numbers  that were popping up in mind.

Its startling to notice that 90,000 new voters in the age group of 18 to 22 have been added out of the nearly 1.80 lakh new voters in each of the 545 Lok Sabha segments. This means that 4.90 crore new voters, mostly the youth of the country, is voting for the first time.

The 2014 Lok Sabha election is going to be historic in the sense that the youth of the country will bring in the swing factor in the elections. As rest of the country votes along predicted lines, there are committed Congress and BJP voters , committed voters for regional parties, the youth looking for a party that will fulfill their aspirations of a modern india will be the deciding factor.

With this background, you can understand how each political party is playing its game, whether it be the congress through the interim budget, the AAP with its crusade against corruption ( this sells with the frustrated youth), and the BJP with its commitment to bring the economy back on the rails through Namo Modi's successful gujarat models of development that focuses on the LAD, not the youth, but selling Local Area Development concept to the Lad.

Its in this context, the E Zine comes in handy when i have to number cruching in my articles. The biggest constituencies , the smallest constituencies, and all the information on the LS polls, very very useful.

Congratulations to the E Zine team and kudos to Srinivasan for the leadership he has provided so far.  I also congratulate Susan Koshy, who has taken over as Editor of the ezine from this edition.

Best Regards
