Hats off to richa seth. a well thought over article which is very
candid and appealing.

paradoxically, PR persons continue to have an image of just extending
hospitality to the chief and other bosses in the organisation. they
need to act more as professionals and as true advisors to their
Management and impress the bosses by their understanding of human
nature which includes all internal and external publics and devising
strategies to get at them and seek their cooperation and support for
the progress of their own organisation.

we need to be true eyes and ears of the management. we must have the
confidence in ourselves and in the publics, besides effective
communication and behavioral skills. we are in no way inferior or less
than others. let us stand up, stand erect and make our way through to
Board Room. Incidentally, even as General Manager/Corporate PR/BHEL, i
used to be called by the CMDs during their interaction with
Directors/EDs. they reposed confidence in me and i came true to their
expectations -- God's grace and good wishes of friends in PR
