[prpoint] Adfactors PR to host ‘Social Intelligence for Business Success’ conference

Global experts in social media analytics to deliberate on future global trends

In a first for the Indian public relations industry, Adfactors PR will host a seminar on Social Intelligence, featuring experts such as Thomas Stoeckle of WCG, Sam Flemming of Kantar Media CIC, and Arvind Gupta of Bharatiya Janata Party on September 5, 2014, in Mumbai.

This conference – titled, 'Social Intelligence for Business Success: A case of three cultures' – is designed to bring together experts in the communication domain from three cultures – Europe, China and India – to discuss how businesses can leverage analytics and social media more effectively towards increased competitiveness.

Social Intelligence (SI) as a business tool assumes significance in India as a staggering 106 million educated and English-speaking Netizens in this country access social media platforms everyday to share posts and/or to voice their opinion on various issues. Marketers find employing SI useful as it simultaneously analyses online behaviour of Netizens and predicts consumer behavior through a combination of computer-aided data crunching and human interpretation of the same. Since most of these Netizens are young, educated and English-speaking, they constitute the ideal target group for innumerable product categories ranging from basic apparel to high-end gadgets.

SI has the potential to not only provide meaningful insights to business functions such as product development, customer service and corporate strategy but also in the creation of impactful communication campaigns.

As keynote speakers, London-based Mr Stoeckle and Mr Flemming from Shanghai will present their views on Social Intelligence from the Western and China market perspectives, respectively. Arvind Gupta, the architect of Bharatiya Janata Party's robust digital media strategy during the 2014 general elections, will, on the other hand, share his experience of successful utilisation of online platforms to communicate with the electorate.

Looking at how the West has embraced Social Media, and how China has evolved its own unique Social Media scene, it is believed that India is at the threshold of a Social Media explosion. The encouraging numbers of increasing Internet connectivity across the country points to that scenario.

All three keynote speakers will present emerging tools, technologies, best practices and case studies along with in-depth insights and unique perspectives from their markets. Apart from these speeches, there will be panel discussions featuring prominent panelists such as Kiran Khalap of chlorophyll, Santosh Desai of Future Group, Sumit Virmani of Infosys Technologies, Sujit Ganguli of ICICI Bank, Anil Jairaj of Pidilite Industries, and Anant Rangaswami of CNBC-Storyboard.

Madan Bahal, co-founder and Managing Director, Adfactors PR said, "We are organising this seminar as a commitment to our clients and the communications industry. In the practice of strategic communications and public relations, it is crucial that we evolve in our ability to interpret information and insights with Social Intelligence technology. At Adfactors PR, we believe that Social Intelligence is a subject of strategic significance.  As such, our event promises to serve as a knowledge sharing platform for the marketing and communications community in India."
