[prpoint] Right to Information and Indian Companies

Dear friends

One of our members Avinesh has suggested a discussion on the RTI. I
hope by now, you might have read the ezine (dec issue) on the subject.

The impact of RTI in the days to come will be more felt by the Private
and Public Sector organisations. Private Sector companies should not
under-estimate the impact of RTI act on them.

As suggested by Avinesh, this RTI act brings in more transparency and
can be taken as a good PR opportunity also.

At the same time, companies providing wrong information or appearing
to be suppressing information may also face trouble from the
stakeholders. (Please read the case study of Poompuhar Shipping
Corporation that was published in our latest ezine)

I invite members to share their views and experiences

intentions and replies with equally good intentions can be a great
contribution to the nation. Organizations should see RTI applications
as an opportunity for effective Public Relations.
