[prpoint] 6th August as National PR Education Day - Views

Respected sir/madam

Many wishes to you,

Global Forum for Public Relations (India International Association for values and ethics Public Relations – an initiative of Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University) intends to celebrate 6th August as "National PR Education Day" from this year onwards.

The importance of the day is that our PR Celebrity, Dr CV Narasimha Reddi is completing his 75th year this 6th August 2008.  Of the 75 years, he might have spent 50 years practicing Public Relations on one hand and promoting PR professional bodies, PR education, teaching PR in various Indian & Foreign Universities, authoring books on PR and editing a PR journal etc, on the other. Now, he is busy with AP State Council for Higher Education in developing model curriculum and formulating PR courses to be introduced in the Universities of Andhra Pradesh

Please see his brief C.V. down the mail.

We need to identify elders in PR clan for our own identity. We believe honoring such a multi-faceted PR celebrity is honoring the profession itself. Hence, this proposal.

Some of the elders and notables in ABCI, PRSI and PRCI have already expressed their opinion and wanted to join hands in celebrating "National PR Education Day" on 6th August every year. Several National level PR  Practitioners, Media Experts, Educationists, Academicians and a few International personalities have also expressed their views while appreciating the initiative of GFPR.

I would therefore request you to pass on your opinion/view/suggestion, please.

Regards,

Babji. Y
