Hi there, Having worked as PR person for a Public Sector Bank for almost 25 years, I fee that these are few things a PR man has to remember:- -Ensure that he is also answerable to only one person and not to many, with different interests. -Enasure thatthePress Release/Press Note is based on TRUTH and not fiction. (Recent media reports say that all the so call schemes launched by CM of UP are only on papers. It may be recalled thay Late PM-Indira Gandhi, laid foundation stones for 128projects in UP in one week - only 8 projects materialised. Rest, even the foundations stones were stolen.) -The Full page supplements issued bymost of CMs have no creditbility. Instead give ACTUAL cases of govt. help rendered to poor in media with photos of the concerned person (not just meinster handing over cheque) and through a/v media actually shot on the spot. -Be in touch with media regulary and do not give different stories to different people. -Have the courage to tell your BOSS what are your views on a subject, though ultimately you will do what BOSS say. -suggest ways and means to ensure that media coverage is on frequent intervals, to be in lime light. -Tell BOSS that he can-not buy media with drinks/lunch/ -Media 's need is a good story - all the time. s.n.surkund - --- On Mon, 9/29/08, chandrhira <chandrhira@gmail.
