I was happy to see the headline ‘HIGH GROWTH’ in The Economic Times, similarly in many of the other media there is a positive applause of our GDP growth. It is this kind of positive factual portrayal of news that will help us get out of the recession thinking.. a 7% growth rate of GDP is hardly any recession . I do hope the media does realize that painting a negative picture only creates fear and creates a spiral. The negative spiral I am sure is also impacting the media houses!
As communicators we do know the power of media to shape opinion. I do feel that each one of us as communicators have a role to play of sensitizing the media to look for positive economic stories and not spread the fear. Every time you meet a journalist just share this perspective. I am sure
