Elders always mind their walk lest they may fall and get hurt, where as the youth wanted to rock always, unmindful of the ground underneath. Still younger people can not put their feet together but wanted to jump up and down. Younger people listen to what they want. Follow what they like. Your suggestions, however best they may be, sounds like Metta (dry) Vedantha or Meta Physics to them. Profession and its enrichment connotes something to elders but it denotes some other thing to youth.
Elders shall safely play the role of a coach, imparting theory of the sport and suggest only when needed. The coach will never run or swim along with his ward and risk his life. His energies will not permit him, either. Blame if he fails. Take credit if he achieves. Remember, what we did in our youthful days. When we were full of flesh and blood, did we listen to the elders? We might have fallen to the ground several times, got up, learnt lessons and reached this stage.
Neither the older people nor the younger are to be blamed at this juncture. The entire fault lies in viewing the things. It is nothing but a parallax error.
