Hi there,
Due to my ill-health, I could not participate fully in
the ABCI's awards function. However, I am very happy
and satisfied for being thereeven for couple of hours,
as I could meet many friends whom I had not met
beforeand several others, after Jaipur or Bangalore
bash of PRCI.
No doubt, as rightly observed by Srinivasan, the delay
in starting the function could have been avoided.
While I am fully aware' it isnot within or beyond the
control of ABCI or even Yogesh Joshi, if VIPs arrived
late, keeping in mind the past experience ( I have
been closely associated with ABCI for last 2/3 years
and hardly the function started in time as per
announcement) for various reasons.
However, this time since large audience was present,
of which could be many attending for first time, a
curtain raiser on ABCI's past award functions could
have been kept ready to use for the benefit of the new
members.
Also, those who attended forfirst time, could have been
calledon stage and introduce themselves to make best
use of the time instead of keeping the stage idle.
May, few slides of the past founders members could
have been flashed such as M.V.Kamath, Arun Shourie,
Pritish Nandi, and such other personalaties for the
benefit of new members.
Only I can say, that since past three years, due to
theleadership of Yogesh Joshi and his team, the ABCI's
awards function has been graining apart from
popularity, a status in the Business Communication
circle, like the ABBY awards of Ad-club, awards of
Communication Arts Guild, RAPA,and many other
professional bodies.
ABCI should now make efforts to rope in more members
which would not only generate more entries, may be
better quality entries from the new member
organisations.
Needless to say, there is a big hand in ABCI's recent
progress due to the active support from Srinivasan as
well as PRCI's Jayaram and his team.
I am not sure, whether credits for the judges were
shown, as I had left early, due to my ill health.
