| Hi there, quite interesting and humourous. I had a very interesting experience, slightly in different area. A radio jingle inEnglish was being dubbed/trasncreated in various languages. The ad-agency, who had completed the recordings, wanted me, being client, to approve them. I clearly told that except Kannada, I do not know any other language (of course Hindi and Marathi). He said it is only a formality. when I heard theKannada version, I got a shock of a life time - The word Money (Hana) and pronounced as "Hena' (dead body). When probed, it turned out that since thekannada mandid not turn up, a tamilian did the job, after getiing a brief on phone from kannada person. However, care should be taken while providing language versionsof pressrelease, as particularly, in DD news, we save the trouble of their doingthe tralsation and thenedit, which is double work for them. s.n.surkund --- On Fri, 11/7/08, Avinash Murkute <avinash_m28@ From: Avinash Murkute <avinash_m28@ |
